jbA worked on the planning and conversion of West Dean Estate’s redundant and semi-derelict range of early and late 19th century agricultural buildings into ten-units of accommodation with en-suites, a refurbished banqueting hall and the creation of a courtyard area. This substantial project won the Sussex Heritage Trust Award in 2008 for the best non-residential restoration project of that year and is now run as a successful wedding and events venue.
“I have worked with John Brown on several projects, in particular the development and restoration of Farbridge barns as a wedding venue, which won the Sussex Heritage Trust Award in 2008 for the best restoration project that year. John Brown is an innovative, imaginative and highly professional architect who is full of good ideas and practical solutions to problems. He is a friendly and reliable person and always provides an efficient and top quality service. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone.”
